Any modification or new integration can change the hazards, interfaces and documentation required for the completed installation. Compare the total scope, not only the purchase price: surveys, modifications, software, spare parts, validation, installation time and future support all matter.

A staged plan can retain the machine temporarily while designing interfaces that allow later replacement. The change route should be documented so the first phase does not create a dead end.
